Rohit Sharma plays trademark pull shot off Mohammed Shami’s bowling in IPL 2025

Rohit Sharma played his trademark pull shot off Mohammed Shami’s bowling in the match between MI and SRH at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in the IPL 2025. The star batter dispatched the ball onto the stands and entertained the fans with his aggressive batting. Sharma’s early acceleration helped MI to get a good start in their run chase against SRH.
Shami tried to bowl a slightly shorter delivery to extract a bit of extra bounce. However, he could not get any, as the ball turned out to be a half-tracker. The right-handed batter’s reflexes and hand-eye coordination were strong enough to recognise the length and hit the ball cleanly onto the second tier.

It was an authoritative shot and a statement not just to the SRH bowlers, but for other teams who will face MI in the upcoming weeks. Fans let out loud cheers as the ball travelled a long distance. MI was able to make good use of the powerplay overs, as Sharma’s good start helped them to chase a total of 163 pretty easily in the end.

The right-handed batter has not had as good a season as he would have liked. In the first match against CSK, the Indian captain bagged a 4-ball duck and put up a disappointing performance. Against the Gujarat Titans, Sharma scored just 8 runs in 4 balls.
